Fredericksburg Area Residents Stop Traffic in Central Park
Recently, I was the victim of a traffic jam in Central Park. That may not come as a surprise to you if you frequent Central Park during high traffic hours. However, the reason for traffic lining up this day had nothing to do with heavy traffic. We were all waiting for a group of Fredericksburg-area residents to cross the street (very slowly). Who are these residents who don't obey the rules of the fast lifestyle we're accustomed to? They are the geese and ducks that inhabit the ponds of Central Park.
What was nice during those few minutes was the fact that the drivers and passengers of the cars and trucks stopped in their tracks did not appear annoyed. In fact, a quick look around showed me that everyone was enjoying the show. People in the cars in front of me were all talking and pointing at the scene. One of the passengers in the car behind me had her arm stuck out of the car window trying to find a signal for her cell phone. No...she was actually taking pictures of the geese crossing the street with the camera built into her cell phone. It was truly entertainment with free admission.
Next time you start feeling overwhelmed, consider spending a few minutes sitting on one of the benches in Central Park watching our feathered friends. It just might help you get in a better mindset to deal with your situation.
