So many friends, so little...

Img_1032_2time to greet them all. That's Barnacle's view of life at the corner of WIlliam Street and Princess Anne. Actually, that's his view anywhere he finds himself. He's a soft coated Wheaten terrier and has variously been described as "the cutest dog I've ever seen" and "the perfect doggy looking dog".  I call him a 4 legged loofah; he just looks as if he should be covered with suds from a bottle of body wash, organic of course, and wriggling around in a shower stall.

On various occasions you will find either Alan or Andrea attached to the other end of his leash as he puppy-wiggles his way into your world. He kind of lights the place up.

We used to call dogs that looked even vaguely like Barnacle, "TV dogs" . They had that Benjie-I'll save the day look about them. In the Sunday night TV shows where they needed a doggy hero he was always racing against time to sound the alarm about a house fire, car wreck or runaway locomotive. No pampered and groomed elegant looking Lassie clone here.  Let that knothead Timmy find his own way out of the cave for the 27th time. Benjie/Barnacle waited for the real emergencies before he raced off to find Grandpa in the barn and bark the news to him.

That's Barnacle, folks...the second of our "Downtown Dogs".
