I suppose it's not...

...really news to tell you what you missed but if you weren't there at Liberty Town to hear Laurie Rose Griffith and Pete Mealy host the Ohio Guys from Athens, you missed a lot. Jody Schaub, Pat White, Bruce Dalzell and Billy Rhinehart rotated in front  of the microphones at Liberty Town Arts Workshop sharing their talents for the 10th year with an appreciative audience in what has become, thanks to Dan Finnegan at Liberty Town, a delightful and comfortable performance space. Softer seats, air conditioning and no bugs made this the place to be Saturday night. It's more like a family room than a formal music venue with a terrific sound system that doesn't plaster you to your seat. Surrounded as you are there by the best work of some of Fredericksburg finest creative souls, it's easy to lose yourself in the music. Anytime you can enjoy 3 hours of top quality music live for $10 it's a bargain and this fill in performance in the Acoustic Roots Concert series (they took August off) was all that and more. I'll stop rubbing it in with that and encourage you to watch for the next edition of the Acoustic Roots Concert series. You'll get the details here as soon as I have them.
