First Friday for October 2006
Despite the weather I cannot remember a First Friday I have enjoyed more that this one. The art I saw from the top of the hill
(Cynthia Erdahl's, at left, memory evoking houses at Liberty Town) to the bottom of the hill (Deb Booth's Expressions and Impressions at Wounded Book Bookshop)
every trudging step in the rain was worth the effort.
Along the way there is Joan Critz Limbrick's inventive and thought provoking work at Hyperion Espresso and Elena Gorbachevski at Studio A where Sara Irby seems to have a knack for finding the artists with fresh and exciting styles and Elena's work continues the direction set by Sara's two most recent shows with Medina Roberts and Robyn Ryan.
Abstracts are not my favorite thing but to me Gorbachevski's paintings are absolutely gripping with the energy and vision that I feel radiating from them.
It was raining last night and that's the only bad news. The good news is that Sara will be repeating her September innovation at Studio A by having a First Friday encore on the 13th. Previews here
All these exhibits are scheduled to continue through out the month.

I enjoyed my first visit to your site!
