Bloggers get some limelight!
Check the front page of the Spotsylvania and City Extra today and read Emily Battle's article on two other local bloggers. She didn't mention this one but I suppose that tells me that I need to be more active in letting people know about what goes on here. I was annoyed at first at being left out, especially since I used to have a blog on the FLS site until they dropped all outside bloggers. I've been providing free publicity and promotional notices about local artists , venues and performers for almost two years and if after that length of time their reporter does not know about The Fredericksblog then I have obviously dropped the ball somewhere along the line so I'm going to try and turn being overlooked into a positive thing, a wake up call if you will. The majority of blogs last for only a few months so I'm proud that we're looking at our second anniversary. In fact The Fredericksblog has been publishing twice as long as the two blogs which Ms. Battle mentions combined.
Thanks for reading and tell your friends and neighbors about what goes on here.

Jim - hope you don't mind but I included a link to your blog from my blogroll. I've been following your blog for a few week, but it took me a while to find it. Hopefully now that we're all getting a few more links, Google will move us up in the relevance list. I'd definately like to get the word out about more of the art&sound things going on in town.

Hey Jim, yeah, I had no idea you had a blog, but the link from City Beat clued me in. I wish I had found it earlier. Would you mind if I included this blog as part of fburgblogs.com? That's my effort to raise awareness for all blogs in the Fredericksburg area. Hopefully, as Bryan mentions, this whole effort will raise Google links and get us more out into the open.

I tried to get a local blogger meetup organized earlier this year and I found none of your blogs when I was looking. I ended up canceling it due to lack of attendees. Maybe once Nathan gets critical mass in his aggregator we will have enough people to make a social event happen. BTW, I'm top 10 in Google for "Fredericksburg VA blog" and I wasn't in the article either.
